We have been cooing over Julia's plushes on Instagram for sometime so when she contacted us we knew it was the right time to stock her lovely toys in our shop. You can check out the collection here
We thought we'd catch up with the lovely lady and have a chin wag about her life and find our what she's up to next.
Check out the Q&A below.
Who are you and what do you ?
I am a freelance illustrator turned designer/maker. I design and make kids toys and decor featuring my illustrations. I am also a mummy of two girls and work from home in between running around after them!
What makes you laugh?
Almost everything that comes out of my three year olds mouth.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My own children are my greatest inspiration, and best product testers!
Where's your favourite place in the whole wide world?
Probably home! I am very much a homebody, and am always happy pottering about, but other than that Sicily will always have a place in my heart as we went on honeymoon there. And they have really good ice-cream.
What is your favourite piece from your current collection?
I have a soft spot for Pepe Peanut. He is slightly crazy, an idea that came out of nowhere and my daughter Bea loves him.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Yes, I love watching terrible old TV series on Netflix when I'm working. Currently working my way through Gilmore.
What's your favourite film?
Its got to be Gone With The Wind. Although I'm not sure when I will ever have a spare four hours to watch it again!
What food is evocative of your childhood?
Angel Delight! Considered a great delicacy by my four siblings and I but having tried it more recently, its not quite as nice as I remembered it!
Do you have a special talent ?
Nothing that would get me onto a Royal Variety Performance, but my chocolate eating abilities are second to none.
I am currently working on new collections for Autumn/winter and Christmas, and trying to figure out how to grow another pair of hands!
Thank you so much Julia for taking part in our little Q&A it's great to get to know the designer behind the product and to hear about your chocolate eating skills! Good luck with growing another pair of hands. Let me know how that goes as I'd like some too :D
We're looking forward to the Winter collection.
