We love a few things here at burp! towers......surfing and Hawaii. Okay so we're not surfers, my husband grew up in land-locked Leicester and dreamt of surfing so when the family travelled down to Cornwall for Summer holidays he and his brother would bodyboard all day long. I on the other hand grew up in London liking parties and never thinking of surfing! So when I met James he taught me a few things about skating and surfing and introduced me to some awesome films like Dogtown and Z Boys and Riding Giants. I was hooked straight away!
We travelled to Oahu, Hawaii in 2005 and stayed in North Shore right next to Waimea Bay (a surfer's paradise) and fell in love with the place. The whole lifestyle is so appealing. I think we'll move there when we're old and become aging surfers..... ;D
So when I stumbled across Monica's blog my heart stopped!! Monica is The Grommom (grom is a young surfer) - she lives in Oahu with her handsome doctor husband and their 4 (yes 4!!) boys. I think she deserves a medal just for coping with 5 boys! Her blog whisks you off to the balmy climes of Hawaii with tales about her sons, surfing, food, health and fitness and other life events. It's a fabulous blog and if you feel like 'virtually' leaving the grey skies of Great Britain and experiencing Oahu then check out her site, you won't be disappointed I'm there right now.....the palm trees are swaying, the sun is warming my skin, the sand under foot is gorgeously soft and comforting and the waves are glistening and crashing into the surf. (I'm certainly not at my desk looking at the grey sky!)
