Ah yes indeedy, anti-aging....the business that creates billions of £'s a year. There's a cream, potion and lotion for every kind of wrinkle and imperfect pore and us ladies love handing over our hard earned cash for it all. And why not indeed? But do they all work? And aren't most of them crammed full of chemicals, like parabens or SLS's, mineral oils etc etc.
Now at the ripe old age of 36 I can see age creeping in and to be honest I'm not a fan!!
So I am keen to help keep age away as long as possible but being fairly natural about it.
After a few weeks of some serious stress, my back froze up and my poor face broke out in cold sores, eczema on my eyelids and some other fabulous skin delights. Very attractive! In a quest to try and calm my body, mind and skin I was looking for all sorts of reparative treatments and stumbled across a post which recommended making a natural mask to help cool and heal the skin. So I made said mask out of Greek yoghut (packed full of healthy bacteria it softens and nourishes the skin), cucumber juice (is packed full of vitamin C so helps soothe, brighten and plump), honey (great for it's antibacterial properties, high density of minerals, antioxidants and vitamins) and aloe vera gel (cooling and great for skin blemishes and cold sores) Click here for the recipe
The concoction also called for vitamin E cream but that wasn't in the cupboard. I applied the mask and left it for half an hour, rinsed it off and was pretty darn amazed at how incredibly smooth and taught my skin felt!! I've used it another 2 times and am still thoroughly impressed with the results. Who needs to fork out loads of money for masks when you can quite happily knock them up in your kitchen? I then stumbled across Womenio and their 15 Effective Homemade Anti-Aging Product Recipes. Total brilliance! Why not try some of them out and let us know what you think? I will certainly be creating lots more homemade masks.
Along with the masks I've been having Epsom Salts baths as they're great for helping to regulate magnesium and sulfate levels which can help to relive stress, flush out toxins and heavy metals, improve insulin absorption, help with the circulatory system, improve oxygen use, improve nutrient absorption, help joint and brain tissue formation and ease migraine headaches!!! All from a bath! Click here for a great article plus it's darn cheap! Only £1.25 for 200g from Boots
So there you go, a few natural remedies to help stress and ward off coldsores....
I know it's helping me, along with a few massages for the frozen back.
Hopefully you're not in the same condition but if you are then try these little tricks out and you may be pleasantly surprised.
